JOSEPH PUTS HIS BROTHERS TO THE TEST.
They are sent on their way by Joseph and stuffs money into his brothers' grain sacks once again. On their way back to Canaan, Joseph's steward approaches the brothers. The brothers maintain they are not guilty of stealing. Benjamin's bag contains the cup. The brothers return humbly before Joseph, an enraged Egyptian official. Even as slaves in Egypt, Judah pledges himself and his brothers to stay with Benjamin. Judah intervenes on Benjamin's behalf. Judah reminisces about his past discussions with the Egyptian official. Judah retells his father Jacob's prior talk. Judah explains why Benjamin's return to Canaan is so critical. For Benjamin and his father, Judah pledges his life.
